About Us

In the summer of 1988, artist Kevin Morgan split from his co-owned business Image Graphics to pursue the dream of creating his very own custom design service and t-shirt shop, and Uptown Dog T-Shirts was born.

From their location at 10 West Union Street in the heart of Athens, Ohio, the "Dog" has seen many fads come and go. A few things remain constant, however, including the quality custom designs and comfortable yet fashionable clothing and apparel that the Dog consistently pumps out into the appreciative community.

In 1996, Kevin turned operations of the Dog over to his business partner and sister, Mary Cheadle, to focus solely on the the creation of fantastic artwork for his many clients. Meanwhile, Mary has flourished in her new role and has carried on the tradition of Uptown Dog quality screenprinting and stellar customer service, and has expanded the Dog's services to include custom embroidery.

While with deep connections to Ohio University (creating countless designs for sorority and fraternity functions, as well as administrative purposes) the Dog also caters to anyone who has a vision, and wants to see that vision on a T-shirt.

The Uptown Dog's casual, fun service style, mixed with their award winning artwork and convenient location, has inspired many people to take them up on their offerings, most notably:

Finally, the Uptown Dog is the official designer and clothing store for the world renowned "Halloween Block Party", an annual Halloween-time event that draws thousands of tourists and onlookers to Athens, Ohio.
